It will be more efficient for you to find answers to your questions on this page before you contact us. We are usually fairly busy with our day jobs as well as running The Dead Swede.

  • Prior to May 1st: We will provide a maximum of 50% refund for any Dead Swede Hundo, LLC event if the refund request occurs prior to May 1st.

    After May 1st: There will be absolutely NO REFUNDS for any of the Dead Swede Hundo, LLC races, distances, and categories after May 1st.

  • Yes! All transfer requests must be submitted no later than 7 days prior to the posted race date. There will be a $10 transfer fee for any transfer request. (we need to do a bunch of paperwork and communications to invoke a transfer).

  • Sheridan Wyoming is often referred to as the hidden jewel of the Big Horn Mountains. Its gorgeous backdrop, endless gravel roads and active community make it perfect for an event like the Dead Swede.

  • The Dead Swede is a fully supported event. With Aid stations every 10 miles or so plus a sweeper vehicle, we are there for you! We’ll have water, electrolytes, first aid, and snacks at our aid stations to make sure you are taken care of and can just focus on riding and having fun.

  • In the Big Horn mountains, there was the first timber mill in the area. A man named George B. Henton ended himself with an ax and it is for him that the local campground was named the Dead Swede Campground.

    Rumor has it that one of the early planned routes was going to take cyclists past that Campground and therefore the event was named The Dead Swede.

  • Well, that depends on the course, but largely, our courses are designed to suit riding a rigid frame gravel-specific bike. We’ve seen folks use mountain bikes and even fat bikes on the courses. We recommend your bike is well maintained and/or is taken into a bike shop for servicing before the event.

    Having a mechanical failure during the event can be a bummer.

  • Yes, Helmets are required when riding on the Dead Swede course and in and around the event venue while on a bike.

  • The roads are open to traffic and you are obligated to follow the local traffic laws, instructions by the police and our volunteers.

  • Yes, we have cutoff times for each aid station.
